Almenotre
Almenotre is a jazz quartet formed in 2018 in the suburb of Milan (Italy). The current members are: Andrea Cacciola (bass), Michele Castiglioni (clarinet), Pietro Ghezzi (guitar) and Lorenzo Varisco (drums).
In october 2022 they started to record their first album called Altrove, released in may 2023.
The style of their compositions and arrangements is based both on the jazz tradition and the western chambern music.
Some of their songs remind the atmospheres of the world music’s pioneers (Paul Winter, Oregon, Ralph Towner) emphasized by the tones of classical guitar and clarinet. Other compositions have a sound that is more electric, which is typical of fusion, english neo soul and alternative rock (Pat Metheny, Alfa Mist, Radiohead).
This mixture creates a modern, relaxed, bucolic and (sometimes) melancholy sound.
